Barbara Beck

Former Chief Executive Officer, Learning Care Group

Barbara Beck served as Chief Executive Officer of the Learning Care Group from 2011 until her retirement in June 2019. Learning Care Group is a market leader in the for-profit education industry, with over 900 schools and 21,000 employees in the US, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. Previously, Barbara was President of the global staffing firm Manpower from 2002 to 2011, leading North America and subsequently Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia, where revenues grew from $5 billion to $9 billion during her tenure. She spent the first fifteen years of her career with Sprint, where her final role was VP/GM, leading technical sales, engineering, and all service sectors for the Western US. Since 2008, Barbara has served as an outside Director of Ecolab, the Fortune 100 global leader in water, hygiene, and energy technologies. She has been a member of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Women’s Leadership Board since 2007, served on the Davos Switzerland based World Economic Forum’s Women Leaders Advisory Board from 2006 to 2011, and is currently a member of the World Wildlife Fund’s National Council.
