Neil Novich

Former CEO of Ryerson, Inc.

Most recently, Neil Novich was President and CEO of Ryerson, Inc. With sales of more than $6 billion in 2007, Ryerson is one of the largest global metals fabricators, processors and distributors with operations in North American and joint ventures in Mexico, India and China. It has more than 100 locations, 60,000 customers and 5,000 employees.

Mr. Novich joined Ryerson in 1994 as COO and became President & CEO concurrent with the IPO of the company. In 1999, he was also named Chairman and remained Chairman & CEO until the sale of the company in October 2007. Mr. Novich started his career at Bain & Company. He has a BA in Physics from Harvard and MS degrees in both Nuclear Engineering and Management from MIT.

Mr. Novich is currently on the board of WW Grainger, Inc., Analog Devices, and Hillenbrand and also serves as a Trustee of the Field Museum of Natural History and of Children’s Home & Aid. He previously served on the board of MetalSite, an internet trading site for metals. Mr. Novich is a frequent speaker on strategy, enterprise risk management, executive compensation and governance.
