Marshall Lux

Former Chief Risk Officer, JPMorgan Chase Consumer Products

Marshall Lux has been a Financial Services consultant and practitioner for over 30 years. He began his career at McKinsey & Company where he served financial services firms across a variety of sub-sectors and functional areas. Marshall led McKinsey’s, and later BCG’s, private equity practices and has extensive relationships across financial services and private equity firms. He left McKinsey, after approximately 25 years, to become the Chief Risk Officer for JPMorgan Chase’s consumer products during the global financial crisis. Marshall then joined BCG, where he was a Senior Partner for five years and helped build a private equity practice while serving financial institutions. Marshall continues to be a Senior Advisor at BCG. Additionally, he currently is a Senior Advisor at Patomak Global Partners focused on risk and regulation.

Marshall has also completed 35 pro bono assignments and has served on not-for-profit boards, including the Harlem Children’s Zone, the New York Historical Society’s Chairman’s Council, the New York Tenement Museum, Junior Achievement, and Reading is Fundamental. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Marshall is a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a Senior Advisor to the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation and a Senior Fellow to the Program on International Financial Systems, both at Harvard Law School. Marshall is also a Senior Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Georgetown University. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Online Lending Policy Institute. Marshall has spoken broadly, including at the House Small Business Committee, the Federal Reserve, and various universities and trade groups. In addition, he is the author of a number of financial services-related papers.

Marshall received an AB in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and an MBA from Harvard Business School with high distinction.
