Industry Initiatives

We support industry initiatives and non-profit organizations that share our commitment to increasing diversity, equity, & inclusion in private equity and the broader financial industry.

Since 2022, we have sponsored The Black Investment Club at Harvard Business School, which seeks to address the underrepresentation of Black investors in venture capital, private equity, and investment management.

Since 2022, we have sponsored BLK Capital Management, an organization that strives to promote the financial literacy of Black students through education, professional mentorship, and real time active money management.

Since 2022, we have partnered with Girls Who Invest (GWI), a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in investment management. GWI’s vision is for 30% of the world’s investable capital to be managed by women by 2030. The organization focuses on education, industry outreach, accessibility and career placement to inspire and support tomorrow's leading investors.

In 2021, we became a signatory to ILPA’s Diversity in Action Initiative, which brings together limited partners and general partners who share a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the private equity industry.

Since 2020, we have sponsored the Opportunity Network, which was founded as a direct response to the inequitable structures of access, college opportunity, and professional mobility that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income communities.

Since 2023, American Securities has been a sponsor of Out for Undergrad, a non-profit organization focused on helping high-achieving LGBTQ2+ undergraduates reach their full potential.

In 2021, we became a member firm of Out Investors. The organization’s mission is to make the direct investing industry more welcoming for LGBTQ+ professionals by organizing networking events, speaker series, and mentorship programs.

In 2018, we initiated our sponsorship of SEO’s Alternative Investments Fellowship Program (AIFP) and have partnered with SEO on a number of events and initiatives aimed at providing access to investment banking analysts traditionally underrepresented in the alternatives industry. American Securities professionals have participated in AIFP Fellowship interviews and mentorships, annual breakfasts for investment banking analysts interested in private equity roles, and private equity preparation programs.

Since 2022, we have sponsored the Synergist Network, a national network of women in investing that seeks to connect women in the first decade of their investing careers and provide them with the infrastructure, network, and business acumen critical for long-term success.

Since 2018, we have engaged with the Robert Toigo Foundation’s programs for both recruiting and professional development, including sponsoring Toigo’s Catapult program, which provides training and connection to incoming MBA students, and participating in Toigo’s RISE program, which supports career advancement for high potential women.

Since 2021, we have sponsored the WAVE Women in Alternative Investments Career Forum, an event to recruit the next generation of women in finance.

Since 2016, we have sponsored the Women’s Private Equity Summit, an annual conference for women from private equity, venture capital, credit, and other private market industries.

Since 2018, we have sponsored Women in Investing at Harvard Business School, which seeks to strengthen the network of current and former women at the Harvard Business School who are pursuing investment management roles in private equity, hedge funds/mutual funds, and venture capital.
