CEO of Supply Chain Services
Sidney “Chip” Emery is owner and CEO of Supply Chain Services of Stillwater, MN, a barcode equipment solutions supplier to commercial businesses nationwide.
In 2008, Mr. Emery retired after 10 years as Chairman and CEO of MTS Systems (NASDAQ-MTSC), the world’s leading manufacturer of mechanical testing solutions and high performance industrial sensors. During his tenure, MTS grew its global market share, while concentrating on its core competencies, consistently delivering double digit earnings growth while its customer base grew to equal strength in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Prior to joining MTS, Mr. Emery held management positions at Honeywell and Bendix.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Mr. Emery served in Vietnam and attained the rank of Lt. Commander as special assistant to the Secretary of Navy in the Carter Administration. He also holds a masters degree in Operations Research and a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Industrial Engineering.
He is a director of Allete, the parent company of Minnesota Power, Urologix, and MECS. He also chairs the St. Thomas School of Engineering Board of Governors in Minnesota.
